The Fox Original Poster Artwork by Leo & Diane Dillon, 1967

The Movie Poster

This illustration contains a fabulous optical illusion comprised of the dark figure of a fox which is simultaneously the hair of a woman and a distant hillside. Juxtaposed with these is another female laying opposite, as if in an embrace with the first.

The Fox is noteworthy in the LGBT community, commended for tastefully representing a lesbian relationship, while remaining a mainstream film.

Bill Gold used this original for many of the film posters including the US One-Sheet & Half-sheet and for the popular soundtrack album cover. The colors were altered for the international posters.

Leo & Diane Dillon created this painting while working for Bill Gold Advertising.

It is signed by the artists.
