Roger Daltrey with His Dogs, at his Country Cottage, Surrey, England, 1968

Barrie Wentzell

"Far from the maddening crowds of the ‘big smoke’ of London, there were some young up-and-coming rock stars that were more at peace ’getting it together’ in the countryside. Roger had this lovely little cottage somewhere, I can’t remember where, but I do remember that we had to stop in to a few pubs on the way asking for directions. Roger and his lady Heather made us tea and we chatted in the garden where I made this picture of Roger against the golden sunshine that filtered through the trees."
