American Civics - Voting Rights

American Civics is a fine art limited edition series of five prints including: Voting Rights, Mass Incarceration, Workers' Rights, Gun Culture, and Two Americas. This piece, titled Voting Rights, is based on a photograph of Fannie Lee Chaney, mother of James Chaney, taken by Jim Marshall as the FBI informed her that her son, had been murdered by the Ku Klux Klan while signing up blacks to vote in the South. (June 21, 1964, during Freedom Summer near Philadelphia, Mississippi.)

  Each print is hand-signed and numbered by Shepard Fairey and stamped by Jim Marshall Photography LLC.
