David Bowie Lying, Diamond Dogs Cover Outtake, 1974

Terry ONeill

David Bowie often enlisted several artists to create his album covers. In this case Terry ONeill shot the photographs that were then used as inspiration and reference for an entirely separate painting that portrayed a half-man, half-dog creature. The final result was typically edgy and controversial for the record companies, and the album was very well received.
