Pink Floyd, Animals Cover Shoot (8A)

Carinthia West

This photograph was taken at the December 1976 Animals photo shoot that was put together by design group Hipgnosis on behalf of Pink Floyd for the launch of their new album.

It features the inflatable pig still tethered between the chimneys of Battersea Power Station in London. Even Hipgnosis did not manage to get a shot of the pig before it broke its lines and floated away. On the cover, the pig featured was added in post-production.

This is image 10282 of the series.
