Pink Floyd, Animals Cover Shoot (3A)

Carinthia West

This was taken at the Animals photo shoot in 1976 that was put together by design group Hipgnosis on behalf of Pink Floyd for the launch of their new album.

The image features the inflatable pig still tethered between the chimneys of Battersea Power Station in London. Even Hipgnosis did not manage to get a shot of the pig before it broke its lines and floated away. On the cover, the pig featured was added in post-production.

This is photograph 10277 of the series.
