Martin Luther King, Newspaper

Bernie Kleina

This historic portrait of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was taken during a rally at Chicago's Soldier Field. After the march from Selma to Montgomery and passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, the civil rights movement turned their attention to ghettos, poverty, racial segregation, hunger and all of the other challenges plaguing Northern cities such as Chicago.
