Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during a rally at Chicago's Grant Park in 1966. The civil rights leader had focused the movement on open housing, poverty, racial segregation, hunger and all of the other challenges plaguing Northern cities such as Chicago after the march from Selma to Montgomery and passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
