John Lennon in his Art Studio, Weybridge, 1965

Robert Freeman

Art was actually John Lennon's first love, so it's no surprise that he continued to refine his visual work while a member of The Beatles. His drawings became illustrations for three best-selling books that he wrote in the 1960's, and his "Bag One" portfolio of lithographs is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
