Pink Floyd, Rayogram

Storm Thorgerson (1944-2013)

This photograph is from the 20th Anniversary box set edition of Dark Side of the Moon, released in 1993. It was made by placing small objects directly onto the photographic paper in the darkroom and then briefly exposing them to enlarger light, a negative type of imaging first used by Man Ray. The negative rayograms were then colored in the computer scans to echo the seven colors of the spectrum.
