The Police, Recording Studio 1981

Lynn Goldsmith

The Police in the studio while recording 1981's Ghost in the Machine, an album inspired by Arthur Koestler's essay of the same name. In his younger days, Sting was an avid reader of Koestler. Another of their albums, Synchronicity, was also inspired by an essay of Koestler's, "The Roots of Coincidence," which mentions Carl Jung's theory of synchronicity.
