Mississippi Fred McDowell is captured here smiling for Jim's camera with a cigar in his teeth at the Memphis Country Blues Festival, 1969. 

Mississippi Fred McDowell was a master of the slide guitar having used everything from a pocket knife, a polished beef rib bone, to a glass slide.
