Prince, Impromptu Back Alley Portrait, Chicago 2004
By Afshin Shahidi
About the image
"I always liked photographing Prince in unexpected places. Of course you would see Prince on a stage or riding in the back of a limo, but I found it intriguing to see him outside his environment. We drove down a back alley to enter a nightclub in Chicago. I don't remember what caught our eye behind the building, but I snapped these. When we went back to the club the next night, we took a few more pictures." -- Afshin Shahidi from his book Prince: A Private View
